Punch Excision Removes Acne Scars

This type of treatment is done by using a sharp tool to remove the skin that contains the scar. This procedure will leave a hole that will then be sealed by suturing the edges of the skin together to close the wound. Punch excision is not an ideal treatment for all scar types, but it is most effective when treating deep, atrophic scars such as ice pick scars.
